This
is Waygara
Tauphan, first buck kid of Waygara Stud. He is a purebred Toggenburg,
but cannot be registered as his
sire, whom we did call Corringle Little Boy, (have since found that
Corringle is aregistered stud, so he is Little Boy) has a mismark and is not
registered. As you can
see though, Little Boy has very good parents, and Tauphan is a
quality buck. In this photo Tauphan is two years old. To see better
pics of his face, and many more, scroll down. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Tauphan is a really handsome, stunning boy, with eye-catching conformation, also gentle and quiet, but very strong, tall and well grown, with a lovely temperament. He is a true "Big boy", and has none of the older look about his face like some bucks, and unlike even Zhivargo, who looks like a "Little man". Tauphan is beautifully put together, with lovely legs, hooves, and shoulders, and well blended all over, traits from his dam. Hopefully his milking traits throw more to his top milking-genetic sire. His back is long and straight, his legs are perfectly shaped, his chest is deep, and he has a lovely smooth rump, shoulders and neck, without being overly heavy, but definately not weak. He is very well muscled all over, and has exact, neat conformation, strong, well blended, smooth, full, and every part in perfect sink with every other part of his body. His back legs look a little weak in the photos, but that is because most are taken on a slight angle, and his back legs are not at all light or thin. Tauphan treats does and kids very gently, as well as being very patient with small children. He grew up totally with people, and loves them. He is such a lovely buck that is is a great shame not to be able to register him, but he throws very nice kids, and we can breed him to crossbreds and get good quality Toggenburg types to then register D grade and breed to Zhivargo. Tauphan has half dominant half ressesive traits for toggles, so when bred to a doe without toggles, the resulting kids often have no toggles. His mother and most of our other purebred Toggenburgs have dominant toggles however, so his father must have a recessive trait. Toggles in dairy goats is an interest of mine, and I keep track of who is dominant, ressesive, or half each. Toggles are only useful for kids being weaned to suck on, other than that they are totally ornamental. Toggles are very cute, and give goats a whole different look. Tauphan throws elegance, character, quiet temperament, nice build, smooth blending, and overall quality to his kids. Most are almost identical to their half brothers and sisters through him, with cultered faces, expressionful eyes, and beautiful conformation the most obvious traits. |

10-2-10 Tauphan will be bred to
Waygara Bebide this year, and we will hopefully we keeping a doe kid
and maybe selling Beb in kid to Tauphan next year. Left is Tauphan when he was two months old, with almost identical features to what he has now. 4-3-10 We have now registered Bebida, so don't need Tauphan, and have sold him as a stud buck. Hopefully he will supply many high quality kids for them as he has for us! Good luck with him, and hope you get lots of doe kids this September! 19-6-10 We have now got two half-sisters of Tauphan, Cookie and Pookie. They both bear a resemblence to him despite being half boer! 24-9-10 We have now gotten Tauphan home, as his owners don't have enough space to keep both him and his kids. He has given them three doe kids so far, with more kids due. 22-10-10 Tauphan is now back again! The family we sold him to now have many kids from him, and cannot keep him and them. Tauphan is available to some does for stud service. |

Tauphan's 'Waygara' kids |
Tauphan's first live kid,
Waygara Twinkle Surprise,
is a lovely boy, throwing to his father's
hight, expression and general build, but to his mother in his ears,
slightly weaker back legs and long tail. Twinkle has his father's eyes
and natural friendliness. He is huge, and bigger than his father! Tauphan's next kid, Waygara Bonnie,
has her
mother's face with a bit more character from her father, and her
father's strong and well made body, though also a little lighter in
build than some of her half siblings. Tauphan's next doe kid, Kudumba
Crystl Spring,
has thrown to her mother's wide, thick, more chunky body
and stout appearance, but has much better blending from her father. Her
mother's wide, thick muzzle has thankfully also been much diluted in
Cry's' face, and Crys' is prettier and sweeter looking than
Misty, with a very well covered and rounded body. Tauphan's next
buck kid, Waygara Seaspray, is the image of
his father except for his colour and a tint of daintier make-up in his
face. Sea has the same strong, well muscled body, long but very well
propertioned, strong, straight and very well-made legs and
hooves, with a nice, gentle face, curved ears and
expressionful eyes, with a very large and open build. Waygara Moonrise, Tauphan's third doe kid and last of the
January 09 season, has a slighter lighter build from her mother, an
eye-catching, deer-like face with long ears and quiet eyes, she hasn't thrown as
much to her father's better blending, but she is looking nicer in
conformation than her mother, with good legs and hooves, a lot nicer
shoulders, and already teats as large as her mother's while only a kid. Two does are in kid to Tauphan this year, Waygara Frolic, and Waygara Tweedie to kid in September 09. Tauphan has now got another five kids in the late 09 season, twins from Tweedie, both having their father's conformtion and nearly his face, and triplets from Frolic. Waygara Tambourine, Tauphan's 6th live kid, has her mother's face, with a little more quality and elegance from Tauphan. She also has her father's conformation, although a bit lighter in build than Trump, and her ears have thrown to Tauphan's. Waygara Trumpeter, Tauphan's 7th live kid, looks a bit more like his father, with his deep eyes, and his searching expression, but he also has a little of his mum. He has very good conformation, and even his mother's weak back legs have been over-ridden by Tauphan's build. Trump is a very strong, compact, well-grown and well-built boy, and will make a lovely buck. Tauphan's next doe kid, Waygara Star-rise, is a full sister to Waygara Moonrise and fits Moon's description perfectly. She is elegant, though not quite so much as Moon, with beautiful conformation, strong legs, nice shoulders and a much nicer neck than Moon. She has also thrown to her father's head a little more. Star's triplet brothers, Waygara Osprey and Waygara Sea Eagle, are about as different as they come. Osprey, aka Ossy, is very like his father, with the same solid, more square head as a kid, and very even and neat conformation, with perky ears above a bright face. Eagle, however, has a calculating, quiet and even lordly expression, with his long, curved ears arching in front of his face, and his half closed eyes watching everything. He is very well blended, not at all chunky, and a lighter build, as well as being polled. Rather than looking like a head joined to a body and legs, he looks more like one piece, even at only a few weeks old. He has the "buck" factor of his father, which Ossy missed out on. |
