This
is Bebida, a Toggenburg doe from the same place as River, looking very
nice (except for her expression) with her bright chocolate coat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Bebida
is a Toggenburg doe we got from some friends - she had
previously been from a dairy. She has pretty good conformation,
although her shoulders could do with better blending, but her legs,
back, rump and neck are all very nice. Beb has slightly broken facial
lines, which I don't like much, and cream markings on her rump, but
neither are serious. She has a slightly coarser
head than I would like, but once we got a nice coat on her, she turned
up quite nice. She has a lovely nature, and is extremely friendly and
affectionate. Her udder was covered in sores and
cuts, which we treated with antiseptic cattle teat ointment. Her udder
turned from dry, cracked and weeping sores into smooth, silky
and shiny, but we had to make sure we kept putting it on as she has a
naturally dry udder and it didn't take much at all for her
udder to get just as bad as it had been. The below photos show what she
looked like when we got her and what she looked like when we sold her
in kid to Zhivargo and giving about 1 litre a day, down from
the 2.0 we had been getting (before we got her in kid) but far up from
the .7 she was giving when we got her! We sold her at the same time as
Jint and River, registered and tattooed. She is due in August and I wish lots of healthy doe kids from her this kidding and in the future. |

Beb after milking about four months later. Her new coat has come in fully here. |
